SHWAS.jpg

SHWAS Foundation

Education in its purest sense is expanding the horizon of human perception. SHWAS sees some of the nation's toughest challenges; Teacher-student ratio, infrastructure, cultural background and poverty.

All of these can result into no pre-primary education, weak academic foundation and a maximum dropout ratio at 8th and 10th grade, which forces the students to pursue the labour work their parents are doing.

SHWAS started in 2008, as a solution to intervene by providing opportunities to the less resourceful kids. These kids, registered at a nearby municipality or trust based school, requires support for learning academics. Currently, SHWAS have been working with 650+ kids, and 23 full time teachers across Gujarat. All the kids spend 2 hours at our centers every day.

There is also an active attempt to always provide a safe and healthy environment for the children, so that they can openly share the challenges they face that holds them back from aspiring their dreams.
